I have known Arnold for nearly 50 years, for 20 of which we worked together in the gas industry, involving pipework and metering in manufacturing and commercial buildings.

In those days, we had marvellous experiences  visiting factories, listening to things being made, talking to all staff, from directors to shop floor workers, sizing exactly the work needing to be done to their requirements.

Arnold was a very professional person in his outlook and he would generally accommodate a client's requirements. However, he did not suffer fools gladly. That's why we got on so well together whilst at work.

Socially, we had great days as he had a wonderful sense of humour at all times.

Finally, I will miss Arnold as he was a special person to me.
